Safety, management systems & sustainability
Occupational health, safety & environment
Practical support to identify workplace hazards, measure exposure, meet the Occupational Safety and Health Act Cap. 231 and build a lasting safety culture — for factories, construction sites, infrastructure projects and commercial operations.
Every workplace carries risks, from moving machinery, working at height and electrical hazards to noise, dust, chemicals and gases that harm health over time. Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act Cap. 231, employers must provide and maintain a safe and healthy workplace, protect workers with suitable controls and protective equipment, train them, and record and report accidents. Injured workers may also be entitled to compensation under the Workers Compensation Act Cap. 233, so prevention protects people and the business alike.
INRC helps organisations meet those duties in a way that fits how their site actually works. We combine walk-through inspections and conversations with workers and supervisors with measurement: our team uses its own calibrated sound level meters, multi-gas detectors and air quality monitors, so exposure decisions rest on data rather than estimates.
For new developments, occupational health and safety is also part of environmental and social assessment. ESMPs and lender standards, such as IFC Performance Standard 2 and the World Bank’s ESS2 on labour and working conditions, expect a project-specific health and safety plan. We prepare these plans alongside our ESIAs, and our audits check whether they are being followed.
Experience includes: Infrastructure development projects, industrial operations, construction activities, manufacturing facilities and commercial operations.

Scope of work
Hazard identification & risk assessment
Systematic review of tasks, equipment, materials and work areas. Each hazard is rated by likelihood and severity, and controls are set out following the hierarchy of control: eliminate, substitute, engineer, administer, and only then rely on protective equipment.
Workplace exposure monitoring
Measurement of noise exposure, dust and particulate matter, and gases such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and methane, compared with occupational exposure limits, with clear advice on controls and hearing protection.
Safety audits & inspections
Independent audits of workplaces and projects against the Occupational Safety and Health Act Cap. 231, your own procedures and client or lender requirements, with findings ranked by risk and a practical action plan.
Construction & contractor safety
Health and safety plans for construction projects, contractor pre-qualification and induction, permit-to-work systems for hot work, confined spaces and work at height, and site inspections during works.
Emergency preparedness & incident investigation
Fire, spill, evacuation and medical emergency plans and drills. When incidents happen, structured root-cause investigations that identify why, not just what, so they are not repeated.
Training & safety culture
Toolbox talks, induction programmes and tailored courses for workers, supervisors and safety committees, combining classroom sessions with practical demonstrations on site.

Our process
How an assignment works
- 1
Initial consultation
We agree the scope, sites and priorities, and review your existing policies, records and incident history.
- 2
Site walk-through
We inspect work areas and activities and talk with workers and supervisors about how tasks are really done.
- 3
Risk assessment & monitoring
Hazards are rated and, where needed, noise, dust and gas exposure is measured with calibrated instruments.
- 4
Compliance gap analysis
Findings are compared with the Occupational Safety and Health Act Cap. 231 and any client or lender requirements.
- 5
Action plan & documents
You receive a prioritised action plan, with responsibilities and timeframes, and the plans and procedures you need.
- 6
Training & follow-up
We train your team, support implementation and return to check that controls are working.
What you receive
Clear, review-ready documents.
- Hazard identification and risk assessment register
- Workplace exposure monitoring report
- Safety audit report with prioritised action plan
- Health and safety management plan
- Emergency preparedness and response plan
- Incident investigation report
- Permit-to-work and safe work procedures
- Training materials and attendance records
